Role 3: Marketing and Branding

1. Overall Aims and Role Description

The overall aim of this role is to assist and coordinate marketing and branding efforts of National Trainers and organisation who have and will conduct the African FOSS Business Model course.

The aims will be accomplished as follows, amongst other:

  • Soliciting on a continuous basis the view of the community regarding branding and marketing
  • Taking stock of the marketing, advertising, and branding material in the community with a view of developing a repository of easily modifiable material
  • Developing a brand for the AFBM course
    • Development of a logo
    • Development of a slogan/motto
  • Undertaking a SWOT analysis for the AFBM course
  • Capacitate individuals with open source tools to produce marketing material
  • Associating the AFBM course with open source champions (organisations, individuals, companies, etc)
