On Thursday, 21. June, some open source initiatives will host an event in Berlin that aims to talk about "South Sudan and Open Source Culture" ... LPIC Certification Camp - Nkozi, Uganda

COSS is excited to bring the 3rd LPIC Exam Lab this year, with a double sitting compared to the last one. This month's exam lab will feature LPI's paper based 101 and 102 exams, both required to achieve the LPI Junior Certification, aka LPIC 1. The Exam Lab will be hosted at UMU, Nkozi, on Masaka Road - Strict Departure from Kampala of 730am. Learning New Things @ the 7th E-Learning Africa Conference

Last month I attended the 7th International Conference on ICT for Development, Education and Training, dubbed e-Learning Africa. The conference took place in Cotonou, Benin.

This training will cover only LPIC-1: Junior Level Linux Certification. Thefollowing are broad objectives of the training, whereby to pass Level 1 exams someone should be able to:i.  Work at the Linux command lineii. Perform easy maintenance tasks: help users, add users to a larger    system, backup and restore, shutdown and rebootiii. Install and configure a workstation (including X) and connect it to a LAN, or a standalone PC to the Internet.

Not long ago, Frank Tilugulilwa tweeted a link to an article about the efforts of Tanzania`s government to soon provide the citizens of Tanzania with „fast, efficient and affordable data traffic to support a range of industries.“ No wonder that this information matters to Frank Tilugulilwa. He is the head of the Free Software Innovation Unit at University of Dar es Salaam Computing Center Ltd, and one of the trainers of GIZs and FOSSFAs pan-african FOSS Business Trainings.
