Content Creation Workshop on "African FOSS Business Models"

On March 10-12, 2009, more than 20 people gathered in Nairobi, Kenya, for the ict@innovation Content Creation Workshop. Hosted at Strathmore University, the group of experts came together for three days of intense work on training materials on the subject of African FOSS business models.

Public Software Procurement Workshop in Kenya

The Linux Professional Association of Kenya (LPA Kenya) conducted a forward-looking workshop on "Accelerating Achievement of Vision 2030 through Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)" on 5 September 2008 in Nairobi. About 20 participants, both Kenyan FOSS advocates and government officers, discussed issues of government software procurement. Apart from presenting his research on government spending on software to the Public Procurement Oversight Authority, Alex Gakuru also introduced participants to the ict@innovation programme.
