ict@innovation is a capacity building programme which supports small and medium ICT enterprises and aims to encourage the growth of African ICT industries by:

1) spreading FOSS business models for enterprises 

2) fostering FOSS certification and

3) supporting innovative local FOSS applications for social and economic development.  

The ict@innovation portal provides free training materials, information on courses, and contact to people working with FOSS across Africa. You can become part of the ict@innovation community by registering a profile.

The 5th African Conference on FOSS and the Digital Commons to be hosted by Open Source Foundation for Nigeria in Abuja

The Idlelo 5 conference on FOSS and the Digital Commons took place from March 19th – March 23rd, 2012 in Abuja, Nigeria. The IDLELO Conference, themed “Open Source Solutions for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)”, is a premier international forum on Free and Open Source Software in Africa and is therefore an especially important event for any ICT programme.

BUGEMA UNIVERSITY HAS STARTED A SERIES OF TRAINING ON LPIC

We are proud to announce to this community that training on LPI Certification has already started at Bugema University. We started January 30th and Match 19th 2012 will be our grand passing-out of the first Linux-Certified professionals according to our training schedule.

This training is conducted at Bugema University Kampala Campus every Mondays at 4:30 pm to 8:00pm.
