Kampala International University (main campus) is located along Ggaba road in Kansanga, a rapidly growing suburb of Kampala, 3 km from the city centre and 2 km from the shores of Lake Victoria, the second largest fresh water lake in the world. The location of the university, near Uganda’s commercial capital, provides students with opportunities for social and cultural enrichment. Kampala International University (western campus) is located in Ishaka, Bushenyi district. The beauty of the country side environment of the western campus provides an ambience for comfort and concentration.
Kampala International University (KIU), commenced operation as a private University in October 2001. The university offers both undergraduate and post-graduate programs on full-time as well as part-time basis.
All KIU academic programs are conducted on a semester basis except the Access Program, Health Sciences, In-service Education courses, and the MBA (Executive), which follow separate schedules
