Idlelo5 Participation for ict@innovation Trainers

The ict@innovation programme would like to inform all ict@innovation trainers that we have opportunities for support to attend the Idlelo5 Conference in Abuja which will be taking place between 19th and 23rd March 2012. This is under the Networking Pillar of ict@innovation which aims to enhance cooperation and linkages among the FOSS community in Africa. Regional networking and peer-to-peer learning has been at the centre of ict@innovations involvement with FOSSFAs biannual pan-African "Idlelo" conferences, such at Idlelo 4 in May 2010 in Accra and Idlelo 3 in 2008 in Dakar.

This sponsorship will be used to recognize and reward the trainers who have shown committment to roll out their trainings after attending the ict@innovation Training of Trainer courses, or those showing the greatest effort to roll out in the coming days. One of the requirements for attending the Training of Trainers courses was to show that the trainers and their institutions were planning to roll out LPI certification trainings after attaining their own certification or FOSS Business Models trainings after successful participation in the ict@innovation FOSS Business Models Training of Trainers courses.

For consideration, applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have attended at least one LPI or FOSS Business Models Training of Trainers course under ict@innovation

  2. Must show evidence of having conducted trainings in their country citing the number of people trained (and the number of people certified, if LPI certification was offered)

  3. Must show evidence of the above

  4. Must write a blog about the trainings that they have conducted on the ict@innovation portal

  5. Must be ready and available to travel to Nigeria for the Idlelo5 Conference (19th and 23rd March).
